My awesome Christmas goodies!

To those who celebrate it, I hope you've had a jolly good Christmas, and I hope those who don't celebrate it have still enjoyed the holidays!

I've been a lucky girl again this year, having received some lovely making-related gifts. As an aside, it's tricky now that knitting's in my life as I can't just say sewing-related. Does anyone have a combined word / term for sewing and knitting, that's not crafting or making?

Admittedly this year I received less making-related gifts than usual, but that's only because I naughtily indulge myself with 'gifts' throughout the year! I can't complain though as I also received some delicious-smelling perfume, white slimline Converse trainers, good quality make-up, the cutest little bow bracelet and many more bits and bobs.

What was your favourite gift this year?

  3. Aw what lovely prezzies you got! The Colette book and Macaron pattern are still sitting waiting on my wish list, but it's my birthday coming up so there's always hope... if not I may have to gift them to myself :) What are you going to do with those heart buttons? They're sooooo cute!

i used my christmas money to buy myself a featherweight! well... it's on layaway lol. i didn't get THAT much money :)

as far as sewing & knitting - i just tell people i make clothes :) haha! of course, that might not work if you knit or sew things other than clothes... but i'm selfish with my crafty time, so it's all clothes for meeee.

  5. I received a serger for Christmas! Ah, well, I'm spoiled I guess. I have to brag about it in the blogosphere because all my family and friends just stare blankly when I say the word "serger."

  7. How about just stitching to encompass both sewing and knitting?
Looks and sounds like a good haul!

  9. how exciting! I assume that means we'll get to see some lovely collette-esque sewing from you in the coming months? :)
Among other fun things I was lucky enough to get a bunch of patterns from my husband and the Linda Sparks Corsetmaking book from my sister-in-law.

  10. Awesome Christmas Marie! I would suggest "stitching" as both sewing and knitting involve stitches? Or you could just say "I make awesome things" :-) I was spoilt and got a new serger for Christmas - super exciting!!! Happy New Year, Sam xox

lladybird - your featherweight looks beautiful!

molly & Sam - the simplest ideas are sometimes the best...why didn't I think of just saying 'stitching'?!?

  14. Ooo! You got some wonderful gifts. Fun! I can't wait to see what you use those buttons for. I really wanted the colette book and a couple patterns, but I can't complain. I got a Kindle Fire and many other little goodies. I've already used the Kindle for my stitching purposes. It works perfectly for tracing embroidery patterns. Haha. I've done lots of reading too, of course. ;)
